We live in a world of discontent, disconnect and self-centered beliefs that are reflected in our daily lives. The lack of caring and inspiring characters that bring honor and truth to the public arena has resulted in the general malaise found in individuals trapped in their own depressing squaller.
We can blame the media, parenting, government, teachers, church leaders, whatever, it still boils down to the adult in the room. Are you the one that takes the lead and expresses honesty, pride and encouragement? Or do you echo the same drivel heard around the world?
Be glad you're not living where the worst of these people live, I hope. There is a future and there is a way to remedy the worst of it. Gather with those who think as you do and look around, is this the path you want to stay on? Will it bring you truth or at least allow you to find truth? There is honor in truly staying with your beliefs and sharing those with others that are foundering on the shores of depression and annihilation of their own beliefs.
This does sound religious and that's ok. You must have a religion to survive the worst. You must believe in something or you are nothing or soon will be unless you grasp that strand of honesty, integrity, honor, pride that will get you through this day and all the rest. If you can do this and allow the caring about others to guide you, you can be the light at the end of the tunnel. We know that it will be difficult, often nasty to carry on and that's how life is, it's up to you whether you choose to care and inspire or care and degrade.
Are you the only one? I don't think so. I think you want the best for yourself first and then the rest can try for the best, too. You wouldn't try to prevent someone from enjoying small pleasures and maybe feeling safe and content would you? You already have it good, right? Compared to (insert horror life story here) that, your life is better than good. All I'm saying is, try to make it better and see. 'Nuff said.
